NORMAN – The No. 20 Oklahoma men's tennis team (10-3; 2-2) is set to host Kentucky (8-5; 1-2) on Friday, March 6, at 5 p.m. CT at the Headington Family Tennis Center.
The Sooners are back in the top-20 in the March 3 ITA team rankings and Kentucky checks in at No. 37.

The Sooners' 2026 home matches at the Headington Family Tennis Center are open to the public and admission is free of charge. Concessions will be available for purchase. The first 100 fans in attendance will receive a free Chick-fil-A sandwich and free pizza will also be available. A tennis ball Jellycat will be raffled off. Oklahoma maintains a clear bag policy for all home events on the Norman campus. Fans can enter through the main doors of the Headington Family Tennis Center for all matches. Doors open at 4 p.m.
Fans in attendance at Friday's competition are encouraged to bring books and non-perishable food for donation in support of OU Student Organizations.
The Sooners hosted Vanderbilt last Friday before heading to Tennessee for a Sunday morning match in Knoxville.
OU fell short to Vanderbilt 4-3 when the Commodores won four straight singles matches. Oklahoma won the doubles point and two singles matches but couldn't clinch the match on the remaining courts. When the match was tied at three-games-all, sophomore Oscar Lacides trailed 3-5 in the third set but came back to tie the set at five-games-all. Vanderbilt's Pablo Martinez Gomez closed out the match with a 6-4, 4-6, 7-5 result.
In Knoxville, the Sooners took the doubles point and won a singles match to take a 2-0 lead in the dual. Tennessee won court five, their only point of the match. Oklahoma took victories at the one and four lines and freshman Johan Rodriguez had the clinching win, 6-3, 6-2.
OU sits at No. 20 in the most recent ITA team rankings and has five individual marks across singles and doubles.
Rodriguez and teammate Orel Kimhi remain in the doubles ranks as the No. 44 pair and senior duo Bruno Nhavene and Luis Alvarez earn their first ranking together at No. 53.
On the singles side, Alvarez leads the pack at the No. 45 spot, followed by Oscar Lacides at No. 108 and Asahi Harazaki at No. 109.
Kentucky enters Friday's match having lost two in a row after falling to Texas A&M and Florida in back-to-back ranked competitions. The Wildcats lost to the Aggies 6-1 before narrowly dropping the match to the Gators, 4-3.
Kentucky has six individual rankings across singles and doubles. Eli Stephenson leads the singles pack at No. 24 followed by Jack Loutit at No. 38. Charlelie Cosnet sits at No. 77 and Nicolas Arseneault rounds out the singles side at No. 102. In doubles, Stephenson and Loutit check in at No. 19.
The Wildcats have two ranked wins on the season. The squad topped then-No. 20 Michigan State 5-2 and later defeated then-No. 15 Duke 4-2.
After Friday's slate, the Sooners head to Baton Rouge, Louisiana, to face No. 6 LSU on Friday, March 13, at 5:30 p.m. CT.
