NORMAN - The Oklahoma women's tennis team is set to conclude their non-conference home slate with two top-15 battles this weekend at the Headington Family Tennis Center. OU will host No. 12 San Diego on Friday before returning on Sunday to host No. 5 North Carolina State for the squad's fifth and sixth ranked matchups of the season.
Both matches will be played outdoors on the six back courts (far west end). The main gate at the John Crain Soccer Field will be used for fans to enter the outdoor courts as matches will be open to the public and free of charge. Gates will open to fans one hour prior to the scheduled start time. Fans attending Friday's match will receive free OU tennis t-shirts until supplies last. Sunday's giveaway will feature pink OU tennis mugs as fans are encouraged to wear pink to cheer on the Sooners.

The No. 16 Oklahoma women's tennis team (3-3) fell to No. 19 California, 4-3, in the ITA Kickoff Regional Championship match on Jan. 28.
OU's No. 2 doubles pairing of Dana Guzman and Alina Shcherbinina got the match started, defeating No. 14 Mao Mushika and Hannah Viller Moeller 6-1.
On the singles courts, Julia Garcia Ruiz got the Sooners on the board with a 6-1, 6-2 win at court three over Valentina Ivanov to make the score 2-1. At court four, No. 16 Florencia Urrutia retired with an injury against No. 36 Katja Wiersholm. The Kentucky transfer held a 6-4, 1-3 advantage before retiring. OU would get two back, starting with No. 37 Guzman who delivered a 6-2, 6-2 win over No. 12 Viller Moeller before No. 72 Alina Shcherbinina tied the match score with a 6-3, 2-6, 6-3 win over No. 17 Jessica Alsola on the top court.
In a final singles matchup on court six to determine a winner, the Golden Bears punched their ticket to the ITA Indoor Championships in a hard fought battle. Cal's Lan Mi pulled out a 6-7, 6-4, 6-2 win over OU's Emma Staker to deliver the win for the visitor's.
The Toreros (5-2) currently have two players in the ITA singles rankings. Leading the pack is No. 49 Mia Mack, with No. 69 Claudia De Las Heras following behind.
The Wolfpack (8-1) also have their fair share in the polls. Their highest-ranked player is No. 3 Amelia Rajecki, with supporting players: No. 27 Anna Zyryanova, No. 30 Abigail Rencheli and No. 44 Sophie Abrams.
No. 9 Abrams and Zyryanova, followed by No. 13 Rajecki and Maddy Zampardo highlight the team in the doubles rankings.
The competition in the Big 12 continues to be strong, and Oklahoma will open its Big 12 slate with a matchup on the road at No. 4 Texas. First serve is set for 12 p.m. on Sunday, March 3 at the Texas Tennis Center.
