NORMAN – The University of Oklahoma men's and women's cross country teams are prepped to race at the NCAA Midwest Regionals at the Greiner Family OSU Cross Country Course in Stillwater, Okla., on Friday.
The OU women will run a 6K at 10:30 a.m. and the men will run a 10K at 11:30 a.m. Oklahoma will feature seven runners on both the men's and women's sides.
The Sooners last competed at the Big 12 Championships in Ames, Iowa. The men's squad recorded eighth place in the 8K and the women's squad registered 12th place in the 6K.
Redshirt senior
Nicholas Young recorded the first finish for the men's team, earning 41st place with a time of 24:14.9. Junior
Colin Caso followed at 42nd place and a 24:17.1 time. Sophomore
Erin O'Brien secured the women's top performance at 53rd place, clocking in at 21:31.1. Junior Gabi Barerra earned 59th place with a time of 21:40.9.
The Sooners race for a chance to qualify for the NCAA Championships in Charlottesville, Va., on Saturday, Nov. 18.
