NORMAN — The Oklahoma men's and women's cross country teams finished first in their respective races this weekend, with all five scorers for both teams finishing in the top ten.
OU's men's team finished first overall and swept the podium at the Aggie Duels in Lawton, Okla., on Friday morning. Freshman
Evans Biwott finished first, marking a 23:30.7. Reigning SEC Freshman Runner of the Week
Ronald Ngetich was less than two seconds behind him (23:32.53), and sophomore
Thobias Cheruiyot placed third (24:01.63). Other scorers for the Sooners include transfer
Adrian Stuphan (25:10.47) and senior
Joshua Cherry (25:16.79).

The women followed suit on Saturday, also placing first as a team and junior transfer
Sanae Hassnaoui placed second (18:11.02) in her debut with the Sooners. Sophomore transfer
Lily Baker finished shortly after in 18:37.75, finishing fourth in her cross country debut.
Sophie Coughlin finished sixth (18:46.77) and
Abby Jepchirchir followed right behind, taking seventh (18:55.89). Senior
Erin O'Brien was the fifth scorer for the Sooners, finishing in tenth with a time of 19:00.93.

Both teams will take two weeks off before taking the course again on Friday, Sept. 26. The men will travel back to Stillwater, Okla., for the Cowboy Jamboree, while the women visit Columbia, Mo., for the Gans Creek Classic.
