OU Dominates Wyoming in 7-0 Sweep

NORMAN - The No. 4 Oklahoma women's tennis team notched their third win and shutout of the season with a 7-0 sweep over Wyoming on Tuesday.

The Sooners opened the match with a clinched doubles point. No. 22 Layne Sleeth and Alexandra Pisareva held their own at the top court against Sophie Zehender and Ana Fernandez, taking the match 6-1. To secure the opening point, sophomore Emma Staker and freshman Romana Cisovska grabbed the 6-3 victory over Noesjka Brink and Nikol Dobrilova on court three.

When play was halted, Julia Garcia Ruiz and Dana Guzman were down 4-5 at the No. 2 spot against Maria Oreshkina and Violetta Borodina.

Singles action kicked off with Cisovska nabbing her second singles win as a Sooner, taking the 6-1, 6-1 victory on court six against Lucia Malinak. Guzman followed right behind as she delivered the quick 6-0, 6-2 win over Dobrilova at the No. 3 spot. To secure OU's third win of the season, Sleeth notched a win at the top court over Oreshkina, taking the match 6-1, 6-1.

The match played out and Garcia Ruiz added another point for OU on court five, taking down Fernandez 6-2, 6-2. No. 91 Carmen Corley extended the lead with her 6-2, 6-2 victory over Zehender at the No. 2 court. To claim OU's third shutout of the season, Ivana Corley battled on court four and pulled out the 4-6, 6-4, 1-0 [10-4] win.
