NORMAN – The No. 3 Oklahoma women's tennis team heads to Texas to face No. 72 TCU and No. 27 Texas Tech beginning Friday. The Sooners will begin their trip in Fort Worth, Texas, against the Horned Frogs on Friday before traveling to Lubbock, Texas, to face the Red Raiders on Sunday.

Doubles play kicked off with a dominate 6-3 win from
Anchisa Chanta and
Dana Guzman on court three, who downed Sabina Zeynalova and Bella Zamarripa.
The Longhorns came back with a battle at the top court from No. 77 Allura Zamarripa and Peyton Stearns, beating Ivana and
Carmen Corley, 7-5. Texas clinched the doubles point when the No. 66-ranked duo of Kylie Collins and Charlotte Chavatipon scratched out a 7-6 (9-7) win on court two over OU's
Layne Sleeth and
Alexandra Pisareva.
Going into singles, the Sooners were down 0-1 against the Longhorns. Action kicked off with freshman
Anchisa Chanta getting OU on the board with a 6-2, 6-3 win on court four. Texas came back with two back-to-back victories. The first was from No. 75 Sabina Zeynalova, taking down OU's
Ivana Corley, 6-4, 6-2, on court three, while No. 5 Peyton Stearns left victorious over
Layne Sleeth, ranked 19th, at the top court, 6-4, 6-3.
The Sooners came back with a court five victory from senior
Alexandra Pisareva, 7-6 (8), 6-4, over Vivian Ovrootsky. To tie the match, No. 43
Carmen Corley defeated No. 50 Kylie Collins on court two in an intense 7-5, 7-5 battle.
To clinch the match, freshman
Emma Staker fought hard for the Sooner victory on court six and defeated Allura Zamarripa, 7-5, 4-6, 7-6 (7-5).
UP NEXT
The Sooners will be back on the road to face Iowa State on April 8 and West Virginia on April 10.
