OU Collects 20th Win of the Season

FORT WORTH, Texas — The No. 3 Oklahoma women's tennis team took their 20th season win and fifth conference win after their 6-1 victory over the TCU Horned Frogs on Friday afternoon in Fort Worth, Texas.

In doubles, No. 4 duo Ivana and Carmen Corley took control of the top court with a 6-2 victory over Aleksa Cveticanin and Alisa Soloveva. TCU answered on court three with Jade Otway and Stevie Kennedy taking down OU's Anchisa Chanta and Emma Staker, 6-3, on court three.

It came down to court two, where ultimately TCU's Mercedes Aristegui and Isabel Pascual defeated No. 50 duo Layne Sleeth and Alexandra Pisareva, 7-5, to clinch the doubles point for the Frogs.

The Sooners turned up the heat going into singles. Freshman Anchisa Chanta rolled through her match against Jade Otway, taking court three 6-1, 6-0, to tie it up. To take the lead, senior Alexandra Pisareva took the court five win over Helena Narmont, 6-2, 6-0.

The Sooners continued to roll over the Frogs, with freshman Emma Staker defeating Stevie Kennedy 6-2, 6-1 at the No. 6 spot. Layne Sleeth, No. 19, clinched the win for the Sooners with her 6-0, 6-1 win over Alisa Soloveva at the top court.

Sophomore Dana Guzman collected her first 2022 singles victory after defeating Isabel Pascual 6-3, 6-2 on court four, while No. 43 Carmen Corley wrapped up the singles sweep with a 6-3, 6-4 win at the No. 2 spot over Mercedes Aristegui.
