OU (11-3) fought hard but fell 4-3 to then-No. 28 Arizona in Tucson, Ariz.
In singles play, Alex Martinez struck first for OU, defeating then-No. 120 Gustaf Strom 6-1, 6-4 at the No. 1 spot. Justin Schlageter picked up a 1-6, 6-3, 6-3 win over Carlos Hassey, while Mark Mandlik notched the victory over Filip Malbasic in a 7-6 (3), 6-4 fashion.
WHERE THEY RANK
For the first time in the Crowell era, six Sooners checked in to the latest ITA rankings.
In singles, Mason Beiler checks in first at No. 45. Mandlik jumped 24 spots to No. 64, while Martinez enters the rankings at No. 68. Jordan Hasson closes out the singles rankings for OU at 108.
The Sooners made their season debut in the doubles rankings with two pairs in the top 70. Baptiste Anselmo and Mandlik check in at No. 64, while Welsh Hotard and Martinez claim the No. 69 spot.
