OU to Host Trio of Matches

NORMAN – The No. 23 Oklahoma men's tennis team returns to the Headington Family Tennis Center this weekend to host three matches.

OU will face Wichita State Friday at 6 p.m., followed by a Sunday doubleheader with SMU (11 a.m.) and Abilene Christian (3 p.m.).

Last Time Out

The Sooners advanced to the ITA Kickoff Weekend Championship match last weekend with a 4-0 upset of No. 12 Wake Forest. OU won the doubles point with wins at the No. 3 and No. 1 spots, then reeled off three singles wins from Jake Van EmburghJustin Schlageter and Alex Martinez to upend the Demon Deacons. OU fell to conference rival and No. 6 TCU 4-0 in the championship match.

OU entered the ITA team rankings this week at No. 23. Junior Mason Beiler is No. 69 in singles play.

OU Athletics has announced that fans will not be admitted for 2021 matches at the Headington Family Tennis Center due to limited seating capacity related to COVID-19 precautions. Home and visitor student-athletes will receive a limited number of complimentary tickets on a pass-list basis.
