NORMAN — The Oklahoma men's and women's track and field teams head to Manhattan, Kan., to compete at the DeLoss Dodds Invitational, which will be held Jan. 30-31. The meet, which is the first true road contest for the Sooners, is hosted by Kansas State at the Cliff Rovelto Indoor Track.

The men are tabbed at No. 6 in the first USTFCCCA TFRI rankings checkpoint of the season, with six individuals ranked in the top ten in respective events. Junior Kennedy Stringfellow leads the pack, holding the top of the men's long jump NCAA leaderboard.

The competition kicks off on Friday at 10:45 a.m. CT with the start of the pentathlon, while field events begin at 3:45 p.m. and running events scheduled for 4:05 p.m. On Saturday, field events kick off at 1:45 p.m. and running events begin at 2:05 p.m.

Five Sooners are slated to compete in the top-tier World Athletics Bronze section of the meet, including Stringfellow in the long jump, BJ Green, Awakhiwe Ndlovu and Floyd Whitaker in the triple jump, and Kyren Washington in the high jump.

Two women are set to compete in their first pentathlon of the season, graduate student Kennedy Jackson and senior Ally Stephenson. Throws standout Kennedy Clarke will partake in the weight throw, where she is currently ranked No. 13 in the nation.

LAST TIME OUT

The Sooners look to build off the momentum generated from the first four meets of the season, coming off a home competition where four OU men earned top-ten marks in school history and 14 student-athletes took home individual event titles. Sophomore Niqualas Chew entered the OU top performances list at No. 9 with his leap of 7.67m (25'2.00") in the men's long jump, while Hilton Green cleared a personal best 5.50m (18'0.50") to tie for second in OU history. Brendon See improved his mark at No. 2 in OU history with a toss of 21.20m (69'2.75") in the men's weight throw, and junior Tyson Ritz moved his name up to No. 4 in OU history with his clearance of 2.20m (7'2.75") in the men's high jump.

RUN IT BACK

The Sooners enter their second season in the SEC, a league known for track and field dominance. Oklahoma made a standout first impression during its inaugural season, including eight individual conference titles and a fourth-place finish from the women's team at the 2025 SEC Indoor Championship. At NCAA Outdoors a season ago, the men brought home a sixth-place finish, good for the best outdoor nationals finish for an OU team in 28 years.
