NORMAN -- A pair of Sooners from the Oklahoma men's tennis team ended their runs at the ITA Central Sectional Championships in Ann Arbor, Mich. on Friday afternoon.
Competition began with senior
Bruno Nhavene facing Texas's Jonah Braswell and coming up short in a close match, 4-6, 4-6. Nhavene's match was followed by teammate
Asahi Harazaki'sĀ bout with Ohio State's Alex Okonkwo, the No. 5 seed in the tournament. The junior from Osaka, Japan came away with the upset win after a hard-fought three sets, 6-1, 3-6, 6-4, to advance to the round of 16.
Harazaki faced Connor Henry Van Schalkwyk of Baylor in the round of 16 and fell, 1-6, 5-7, completing his campaign towards a qualifying spot at the NCAA Individual Championships.
