NORMANĀ - Following back-to-back shutoutĀ wins on the road, the No. 23 Oklahoma women's tennis teamĀ is set to close out the home portion of its schedule with matches against No. 36 BYUĀ on ThursdayĀ and No. 26 Texas TechĀ on Saturday afternoonĀ at the Headington Family Tennis Center.Ā
First serve against the CougarsĀ is set for 5Ā p.m. CT on Thursday. Fans can keep up with the action through live statsĀ here. Tennis ball throwersĀ will be provided to fans entering the Headington Family Tennis Center until supplies last. Free international snacks as part of the International Night themeĀ will also be provided for fans in attendance.Ā

OU will celebrate the career seniors Dana Guzman and Florencia Urrutia at Saturday's match against Texas Tech.
A four-year member of the program, Guzman has represented the University of Oklahoma well both on and off the court. On the court, GuzmanĀ was named to the 2023 All-Big 12 Singles First Team and has twice been named to the Big 12 All-Tournament Team for both singles and doubles. Her careerĀ record in singles stands at 75-27, while her doubles record stands at 84-23.Ā
An engineering major, Guzman was named to theĀ 2022 AcademicĀ All-Big 12 First Team.Ā
Urrutia, who transferred to Oklahoma for her senior year, spent two seasons of her career at Kentucky and two at Miami. This season, Urrutia ranks third on the team in singles wins, holding a 19-9 overall record. TheĀ Santa Fe, ArgentinaĀ native has also posted a 7-3 doubles record.Ā
Urrutia was a Second Team All-SEC honoree in 2023 and an ITA Scholar Athlete in 2020.Ā
The No. 22Ā Oklahoma women's tennis team picked up their second shutout win of the weekĀ on SaturdayĀ afternoon, sweeping Kansas 7-0.
The Sooners opened the match by claiming their 14th doubles point of the season. No. 20Ā Dana GuzmanĀ andĀ Roisin GilheanyĀ were first to finish as they defeated Jocelyn Massey and Gracie MulvilleĀ at the top court, 6-1. Kansas would get one back, as Kyoka Kubo and HeikeĀ Janse Van Vuuren knocked offĀ No. 55Ā Julia Garcia RuizĀ andĀ Zdena Safarova, 6-2Ā on court two.Ā
Ava CatanzariteĀ and Chloe NoelĀ clinched the opening point on court two, defeating Tamari Gagoshidze and Maria TitovaĀ 6-3.
GrabbingĀ the first singles win on court one, No. 39 Garcia Ruiz tookĀ down Gracie MulvilleĀ 6-4, 6-2. Extending the lead, No. 95Ā Alina ShcherbininaĀ secured the 6-3, 6-1Ā win at court threeĀ against Kubo.Ā Emma StakerĀ clinched OU's 12thĀ win of the season with a 6-2, 6-2Ā victory over Jasmine AdamsĀ on court six.Ā
The match played out and gave the remaining three courts a chance to tally another win. No. 34Ā GuzmanĀ was next to take the victory, defeating TitovaĀ 6-1, 6-4Ā at the No. 2Ā spot. Noel added another point for the Sooners as she grabbed the 3-6, 6-3, 1-0 (10-4) court-fiveĀ win. To finish the sweep, No. 50Ā Florencia UrrutiaĀ took down Van Vuuren 1-6, 6-2, 7-6 (8-6)Ā on court four.
The Sooners (12-5, 7-2Ā Big 12) currently have fiveĀ players in the ITA singles rankings. Leading the pack is No. 29 Julia Garcia Ruiz, followed by No. 40Ā Dana Guzman, No. 55Ā Florencia Urrutia,Ā No. 97Ā Alina ShcherbininaĀ and No.121Ā Ava Catanzarite.
In doubles, OU is represented by No. 3Ā Guzman and Shcherbinina, followed by No. 19Ā GuzmanĀ andĀ Roisin Gilheany, and rounded out by No. 71Ā Garcia Ruiz andĀ Zdena Safarova.Ā Ā

The Sooners will close out the regular season withĀ aĀ pair of conference clashes on the road, beginningĀ with a matchĀ against No. 35 BaylorĀ on Friday, AprilĀ 12Ā at 12Ā p.m. CT, followed by a matchup with No. 62Ā TCUĀ on Sunday, AprilĀ 14Ā at 1Ā p.m. CT.Ā
