URBANDALE, Iowa - The No. 22 Oklahoma women's tennis team swept Iowa State 7-0 on Thursday afternoon, marking its fifth sweep of the season.

The Sooners opened the match by claiming their 13th doubles point of the season. No. 20 Dana Guzman and Roisin Gilheany were first to finish as they defeated Isabella Dunlap and Ashlee Narker at the top court, 6-1. No. 55 Julia Garcia Ruiz and Zdena Safarova clinched the opening point on court two, defeating Gala Arangio and Juliette Nask 6-1.

On the third court, Ava Catanzarite and Chloe Noel were up 4-3 over Valeska San Martin Ramirez and Anna Kuearum.

Noel grabbed the first singles win on court five, taking down San Martin Ramirez 6-2, 6-2. Extending the lead, Emma Staker secured the 6-1, 6-0 win at court six against Arangio. No. 95 Alina Shcherbinina clinched OU's 11th win of the season with a 6-1, 6-0 victory over Dunlap on court three.

The match played out and gave the remaining three courts a chance to tally another win. No. 39 Garcia Ruiz was next to take the victory, defeating Kuearum 6-3, 6-1 at the No. 1 spot. No. 50 Florencia Urrutia added another point for the Sooners as she grabbed the 6-2, 6-2 court-four win. To finish the sweep, No. 34 Guzman took down Narker 6-1, 6-4 on court two.

The Sooners have a quick turnaround and will finish their week with another Big 12 matchup against No. 50 Kansas on Saturday, March 30, at 12 p.m. CT.
