NORMAN – The University of Oklahoma track and field team opens the outdoor season at the TCU Alumni Invite, held at the Lowdon Track and Field Complex in Fort Worth, Texas, Friday and Saturday.
The invitational is scheduled to begin Friday with field events at 9 a.m. CT followed by running events at 9:45 a.m. CT. On Saturday, running events will begin at 8 a.m. CT. Forty-six Sooners will compete at the meet.
"The outdoor season is always a fun time for track and field," stated head coach James Thomas. "We get to feel like a complete team with the additional events that are only contested outdoors."
This weekend, the Sooners will be introducing unique outdoor season events including the javelin, 4x100-meter relay and the 110-meter hurdles.
Five athletes closed out the indoor season last week at the NCAA Indoor Championships in Boston.
Olivia Lueking,
Angel Richmore and
BJ Green earned first-team All-America honors and
Pippi Lotta Enok and
Paige Low grabbed second-team All-America awards.
