OU Set for Big 12 Indoor Track and Field Championship

NORMAN – The University of Oklahoma track and field team is set to compete in the 2024 Big 12 Indoor Championship Friday and Saturday at the Sports Performance Center in Lubbock, Texas.
The meet is scheduled to begin Friday with combined events at 10 a.m. CT followed by field and running events at 3 p.m. CT. On Saturday, field events will begin at 1 p.m. CT and running events are set for 3 p.m. CT. Fifty-two Sooners will compete in the championship.
"This year's Big 12 Indoor Championship will be a memorable event in many ways. It is the last one for our program and the 10th of my career, but it's also my first time as a head coach," said head coach James Thomas. "I want every single Sooner to leave Lubbock with a well-deserved memory."
The women's squad placed third at last year's indoor championship and the men's team earned sixth. Three Big 12 indoor title holders return for the Sooners; Pippi Lotta Enok, Nikaoli Williams and Zarik Brown.
The women's team is currently ranked No. 25 in USTFCCCA national rankings.
"I am confident that we will see some athletes stepping up in major ways," added Thomas. "They trained and prepared for this moment and now it's time to execute."
The championship will air on Big 12 Now on ESPN+ starting at 10 a.m. CT on Friday and 11 a.m. CT on Saturday. Live results can be found via PT Timing.
