Crowell Earns 100th Win As OU Head Coach

NORMAN - The Oklahoma men's tennis team swept No. 24 Middle Tennessee for its first top-25 victory of the season and head coach Nick Crowell's 100th win at Oklahoma on Friday night.
The Sooners came out strong in doubles by Jordan Hasson and Siphos Montsi taking court three 6-3 over Ondrej Horak and Shu Matsuoka. The Blue Raiders answered with a top-court 7-5 win from No. 51 Francisco Rocha and O. Brostrom Poulsen against Baptiste Anselmo and Nathan Han.
To claim the opening point, Alex Martinez and Justin Schlageter battled to take court two, 7-6 (4), over Pavel Motl and Stijn Slump.
Singles opened with an OU win from Schlageter on court four over Horak, 6-1, 6-4. Hasson followed it up with ranked win on court two, 6-3, 6-3 over No. 74 Slump to give OU the 3-0 lead. To clinch the match and give OU its first top-25 win of the season, Martinez defeated Francisco Rocha at the top court, 7-6 (1), 6-4.
When play was halted, No. 121 Han was at 5-7, 5-4 with No. 119 O. Brostrom Poulsen on court three. Also, Anselmo was at 5-7, 6-6 (1-1) with Marcel Kamrowski on court five and Luis Alvarez was down 6-3, 1-6, 0-3 with Motl on court six.
