NORMAN - The Oklahoma men's tennis team swept Tulsa 4-0 on Sunday night to go undefeated on the weekend.
The Sooners set the tone of the match in doubles by clinching the opening point. Jordan Hasson and Siphos Montsi took court three, 6-3, over Stefan Hampe and Ezequiei Santalla. To secure the point, Baptiste Anselmo and Nathan Han grabbed the 6-3 against Connor Di Marco and Kody Pearson at the top court.
When play was halted, Alex Martinez and Justin Schlageter were tied 4-4 with Daniel Siddall and Timothy Seger.
Hasson got singles started for OU with a 6-1, 6-4 win on court two over Stefan Hampe. At the top court, Martinez grabbed the ranked win over No. 28 Kody Pearson, 6-2, 6-1. To clinch the match, No. 121 Han secured the OU victory with a 6-1, 7-5 win over Callum Gale on court five.
The match ended and Montsi and Volodymyr Zakharov were tied at 6-3, 2-6 on court three. Also, Schlageter was up on Ezequiel Santalla 7-6 (4), 2-4 at the No. 4 spot and Luis Alvarez was down on court six to Timothy Seger, 5-7, 1-3.
