OU Drops Battle To San Diego

SAN DIEGO, Calif. - The Oklahoma men's tennis team fell 4-1 to the San Diego Toreros on Monday afternoon at the Hogan Tennis Center.
The match kicked off with a clinched OU doubles point. On court three, Jordan Hasson and Siphos Montsi took down Marvin Schaber and Lambert Ruland 6-3. Nathan Han and Baptiste Anselmo claimed the opening point with a 6-2 top-court win against Iiro Vasa and Sacchitt Sharrma.
Alex Martinez and Justin Schlageter were up 4-3 against Oliver Tarvet and Stian Klaassen when play was halted.
San Diego answered with wins on four straight courts. First to finish was Oliver Tarvet defeating Montsi 6-1, 6-1 at court two to tie the score. No. 91 Han then fell 6-4, 6-1 to Sharrma on court four and USD's Neo Niedner prevailed over Anselmo at the No. 6 spot, 7-5, 6-2. To clinch the match, Klaassen took court three 6-4, 6-3 over Hasson.
When play was halted, No. 95 Alex Martinez was up 7-6 (5), 3-1 to No. 104 Iiro Vasa at the top court and No. 87 Schlageter was tied 6-3, 2-6, 1-1 with Schaber on court five.
