Men's Tennis Collects Two Sweeps

NORMAN - The Oklahoma men's tennis team notched two sweeps over Wichita State and Incarnate Word on Sunday night.
OU kicked off the day with a match vs. Wichita State and started with an OU doubles point. Baptiste Anselmo and Justin Schlageter claiming court three, 6-1, over Luke Bracks and Orel Ovil. To clinch the opening point, Nathan Han and Jordan Hasson took down Misha Kvantaliani and Richey King at the No. 2 spot, 6-2.
When play was halted, Alex Martinez and Luis Alvarez were up 4-2 at the top court vs. Kristof Minarik and Alex Richards.
The Sooners claimed all six singles courts to grab the 7-0 sweep. First to finish, No. 62 Schlageter took down King 6-1, 6-0 on court four. Hasson followed behind with a 6-0, 6-0 shutout at the No. 2 spot against Orel Ovil. To clinch the match for OU, No. 57 Martinez prevailed over Kvantaliani with a 6-0, 6-0 shutout.
Court six saw an OU victory from Alvarez over Bracks, 6-4, 6-1 and court three followed with a Han win, 6-1, 6-7 (2), 1-0 [10-8] against Alejandro Jacome. Completing the sweep, Anselmo grabbed the 6-4, 5-7, 1-0 [10-7] win vs. Alex Richards at the No. 5 spot.
The squad returned to the court to face Incarnate Word and once again claimed the opening point. Anselmo and Schlageter took down Joao Sasso and Jose Garmendia at the No. 3 spot, 6-2, and Han and Hasson clinched the doubles point, 6-2, against Rafal Bednarczuk and Marco Kermet on court two.
When play was halted, Martinez and Alvarez led Marwin Kralemann and Antoine Martin-Thiri 5-3 at the top court.
Hasson started things off for the Sooners at the top court with a 6-1, 6-1 win over Kralemann. At court five, Anselmo grabbed the 6-1, 6-1 win against Bednarczuk. To clinch the match, No. 50 Han defeated Perego 6-0, 6-2 on court two. The match played on and No. 62 Schlageter took down Sasso 7-6 (1), 6-2 on court three, Jip van Assendelft defeated Amau Miralles on court six, 6-3, 4-6, 1-0 (10-5) and Alvarez claimed the sweep over Garmendi, 6-4, 7-5 at the No. 4 spot.
