NORMAN - The Oklahoma men's tennis team fell to Memphis, 4-3, Friday night at the Headington Family Tennis Center.

The match started with a clinched doubles point by the Tigers. Baptiste Anselmo and Justin Schlageter grabbed the 6-3 win on court three over Pau Fanlo and Pablo Alemany, but Memphis answered. Harry Rock and Conor Gannon prevailed over OU's Nathan Han and Jordan Hasson at the No. 2 spot, taking the match 6-4. To secure the opening point, Memphis' top-court pair David Stevenson and Oscar Cutting defeated Luis Alvarez and Siphos Montsi, 6-3.

Singles kicked off with an OU victory at the No. 2 spot from Montsi, taking down Stevenson 6-2, 6-2. The Sooners continued the momentum with a win on court three from Schlageter over Gannon, 6-1, 7-6 (4).

Memphis then went on to take the next three courts. Anselmo fell to Rock on court six, 1-6, 6-1, 6-2, and Alvarez dropped the No. 5 spot, 7-5, 6-2, against Fanlo. To clinch the match, No. 24 Alemany grabbed the 4-6, 7-5, 6-4 win at the top court, 4-6, 7-5, 6-4, over Hasson.

The match played out and the Sooners claimed the last court at the No. 4 spot, with Han defeating Jeremy Taylor 6-7 (6), 6-3, 6-4.

UP NEXT

OU will travel to Montgomery, Ala., for the Blue Grey Championships on Feb. 24-25. The field includes Alabama, Arizona, Auburn, Middle Tennessee, Nebraska, Texas Tech and Tulane.
