Junior Carmen Corley put OU on the board with a 6-3, 7-5 win on court two, while Staker tied the match 2-2 on court six with a 6-4, 6-2 victory. To take the lead, senior Ivana Corley came back from a 4-1 set two deficit to claim court three 6-4, 7-6 (7-2). The match was tied 3-3 after ASU secured a court five win over Pisareva. With a trip to the Round of 16 on the line, Big 12 Newcomer of the Year Sleeth came out victorious at the top court and secured the 6-4, 6-3 win.
