Soccer Announces Spring Slate

NORMAN — Head coach Mark Carr and the University of Oklahoma soccer program announced Wednesday the Sooners 2022 spring schedule.

The Sooners will play seven exhibitions across five dates throughout the months of February, March and April, highlighted by matchups with Arkansas and North Texas.

OU will welcome Central Oklahoma Feb. 25 for the opener at John Crain Field at 7 p.m. CT. The Sooners will then meet Oral Roberts and Rogers State on March 5 with games being played at 1 p.m. and 4 p.m., respectively.

Oklahoma will travel to Monroe, La., to face Louisiana Monroe and Nicholls State on April 2, facing off against ULM at 10:30 a.m. before a noon contest versus Nicholls.

OU will close with two road contests versus North Texas and Arkansas. The Sooners and Mean Green will meet in Denton, Texas, April 8 at 7 p.m. prior to OU heading to Fayetteville, Ark., April 23 to close the spring slate against the Razorbacks at 1 p.m.

All spring contests at John Crain Field in Norman will be free admission to the public.

The Sooners reloaded via the transfer portal and an impressive 2022 recruiting class following OU's 8-11-1 fall season and Big 12 Championship appearance.

OU added four transfers in Brooke Amos (Rogers State), Emma Hawkins (Central Arkansas), Taylor Hunter (North Texas) and Makinzie Short (Nebraska) and recruited a 2022 class that features 10 freshmen. Carr and the Sooners' 2022 signing class made up OU's highest-ranked recruiting class in program history, coming in at No. 11 via Top Drawer Soccer, including No. 1 in the Big 12. Five of the incoming freshmen have already enrolled at the university and will take part in OU's spring exhibitions.
