Sooners Close Fall Season

NORMAN - Oklahoma men's tennis concluded its fall season splitting time between the National Fall Championships and SEC/Big 12 Challenge this weekend.

Junior Nathan Han and sophomore Jordan Hasson traveled to San Diego, Calif., for the ITA fall finale, while seniors Baptiste Anselmo and Justin Schlageter headed east for Tuscaloosa, Ala.

Han picked up a ranked win in singles in the consolation quarterfinals after defeating No. 84 Fabien Salle (Louisville) 6-2, 6-4 and grabbed a 7-5, 6-0 win over Takeshi Taco (Cowley County CC). The junior then paired up with Hasson in doubles, but fell to No. 14 Bass/Grassi Mazzuchi (Baylor) in the opening round.

Over in Alabama, Schlageter racked up two wins, where he took down No. 13 Filip Planinsek (UA) 6-4, 6-4, a career-high for him and the highest-ranked win in the fall for the squad. Anselmo opened his singles trip with a win over Alabama's Matias Ponce De Leon, 7-6 (3), 6-3.

In doubles, the duo paired up for a victory over Mississippi State's Jovanovic/Sanchez Martinez, 7-6 (5).

The Sooners will return to the court this spring. The team's schedule will be released at a later date.
