NORMAN - The Oklahoma men's and women's track and field teams will travel to Lubbock, Texas, for the Texas Tech Invitational and Multis, Jan. 28-29.
"It's the first weekend we're going to be able to give our multi-eventers a chance to open up and show what they have," said head coach
Tim Langford. "Additionally, we're going to have a few student-athletes who haven't had the opportunity to compete yet and open them up. We're anxious to see what they do, what the multis do, it's going to be a great weekend."
The meet is scheduled to begin with multi events at 10:30 a.m. CT on Friday. Day two will begin on Saturday morning at 10 a.m. CT. 17 Sooners are slated to compete.

J.D. MARTIN INVITATIONAL REWIND
The Oklahoma men's and women's squad hosted the J.D. Martin Invitational at the Mosier Indoor Facility on Saturday, Jan. 22. The Sooners claimed 23 victories, 14 on the track and nine from the field.
The Sooners' first win of the meet came from redshirt senior
Lauren Jones in the women's weight throw, while the men's side of the event saw redshirt senior
Edward Jeans with a first place mark of 63-5.5 (19.34m).
Senior
Madison Langley-Walker continued the trend in women's high jump and secured the Sooners another victory by clearing 5-8 (1.73m).
In men's long jump, redshirt senior
Vernon Turner made his season debut, marking 24-3 (7.39m) to make him No. 6 in the Big 12.
In pole vault, freshman and current school record-holder
Olivia Lueking cleared a 14-1.75 (4.31m) to clinch first place.
The Sooners showed off in men's and women's shot put. Junior
Payden Montana moved to No. 3 in the nation with a throw of 56-8.75 (17.29m) to set a PR and clinch first. For the men, redshirt senior
Cooper Campbell threw for 61-7 (18.77m) to finish first.
Senior
Daneesha Davidson leaped a 40-5.5 (12.33m) to take first place, while redshirt senior
Garry Williams moved to the No. 2 spot in the conference and No. 9 nationally, marking 52-2 (15.90m) to take first.
On the track, the mile run received a first-place finish from the men's and women's squad. Senior
Jordyn Kaplan clocked a 5:01.51, while redshirt junior
Jordan Gledhill finished with a time of 4:18.79.
In the women's 60-meter hurdles,
Madison Langley-Walker secured first place with a personal best time of 8.45 to move to No. 11 in the Big 12. For the men, redshirt senior
Jasher Foster placed on-top, clocking an 8.01.
Adding more first-place finishes, redshirt senior
Ja'Leesa Giles took first in the women's 60-meter dash with a 7.58, while freshman
Jada Atkinson took the top-spot in the women's 400-meter dash, clocking a 58.22. In the women's 600-yard run, redshirt senior
Jai'Lyn Merriweather clocked a 1:25.21 to take first.
Once again, the Sooners were at the top in both the men's and women's 800-meter run.
Jordyn Kaplan collected her second win of the day, finishing with a 2:15.67, while
Jordan Gledhill received his second win, with a time of 1:55.29.
For the women's 200-meter,
Jania Hodges ran a 25.14 for first place, while the men's side saw senior
Quoi Ellis take first with a time of 21.98.
The Sooners saw two first-place finishes in both the men's and women's 3,000-meter run. Junior
Madeline Medina blew the competition with a 10:12.88 finish to clock a personal best, while freshman
Antonio Florcruz finished with a time of 8:45.33.
Closing out the track, the men's 4x400-meter relay team, made up of
Gage Hensey, redshirt senior
Isaiah Levingston, junior
Richard Kuykendoll, and redshirt sophomore
Joey Zayszly, found success with a first-place finish of 3:22.77.
ENTERING THE RANKINGS
The OU women's squad checked in at No. 19, according to USTFCCA's Indoor National Rating Index. The Sooners currently hold three top-10 spots on the 2021-22 NCAA Division 1 Qualifying List.
