NORMANĀ -Ā The Oklahoma track and field team competes in its first meet of 2022 on Friday in Fayetteville, Ark., at the Arkansas Invitational.
The meet is scheduled to begin with the field events at 12 p.m. CT and track events at 2:35 p.m. A total of 50 Sooners will travel after the month-long break. Action can be seen via livestream through SEC Network+, starting at 2:30 p.m. CT.
"We're excited for this weekend and getting back into action," said head coach Tim Langford. "Looking forward to some really good things, a good competition in Arkansas and getting this season started."
The Sooners return to the track for their second meet of the 2021-22 indoor season, following a successful season-opening performance at the Kansas State Winter Invitational on Dec. 11, 2021.
KSU INVITE REWIND
OU concluded their first meet in Manhattan, Kan., with a broken school and meet record, along with seven victories under their belt.

Redshirt senior Garry Williams took the crown in men's long jump with a 23-4.75 (7.13m) mark. Kunle Akinlosotu joined in with a first-place finish in triple jump with a leap of 48-4.50 (14.74m).

On the track, freshman Karson Kowalchuk clocked a 6.76 in the men's 60 meters to take first. In the 60-meter hurdles, redshirt senior Jasher Foster secured first place with a time of 8.03.

Newcomer Richard Kuykendoll was added to the OU history books after breaking a indoor school record in the 300 meters, with a time of 33.86.

Redshirt senior Isaiah Levingston was up to his usual ways by breaking the K-State Winter Invite meet record with a PR of 1:10.88.

For the women, redshirt senior Jai'Lyn Merriweather took first place in the women's 600-yard race with a time of 1:24.91.
