Five Things to Know
- No. 28 OU (6-4) is home for two matches with ranked opponents this weekend, welcoming No. 21 Arizona State on Friday at 4 p.m. CT, followed by No. 6 Texas on Sunday at noon for the conference opener.
- OU is 1-3 all-time against Arizona State, but the teams have not met since 1986. The Sooners last met Texas in the 2019 Big 12 Championships semifinal, falling to the Longhorns 4-2. Texas would go on to win the national championship that season. The Longhorns lead the all-time series 39-14.
- In its last outing, OU powered past in-state rival Tulsa 6-1 on Feb. 21. The Sooners gave up just two games total en route to winning the doubles point before racking up five more singles wins to put away the Golden Hurricane for the ninth straight time.
- OU has won the doubles point in each of its last five matches. Max Stewart and Mason Beiler have clinched four of those five opening points on court two. The Sooners are 5-1 this season when they've won the doubles point and have given up just one doubles point at the Headington Family Tennis Center this year as OU dropped the point to Wichita State on Jan. 29.
- Freshman Nathan Han and sophomore Alex Martinez carry a three-match doubles winning streak into the weekend. The duo is 2-0 against ranked opponents after defeating 2019 NCAA All-Americans and ITA No. 32 Murkel Dellien and Marius Frosa of Wichita State (1/29) and No. 10 Constantin Frantzen and Sven Lah of Baylor (2/5).
