CHARLESTON, S.C. — The Oklahoma women's tennis trio finished up at the ITA All-American Championships in Charleston, South Carolina to close out their four-day trip, amidst the inclement weather.
Dana Guzman, and
Carmen and
Ivana Corley racked up six singles victories on Monday and Tuesday, while the Corley sisters entered the doubles main draw with a win.
No. 42 ranked
Guzman took down Virginia's Elaine Chervinsky, 7-6 (8), 6-3, and Mary Stoiana (Texas A&M), 6-2, 6-1, before falling to the 2020 Big Ten Freshman of the Year, No. 29 Ayana Akli (SC), 6-0, 7-6 (4).
Junior
Carmen Corley, No. 39, went up against No. 43 Taylor Bridges from LSU, 6-2, 7-5, advancing to play California's No. 119 ranked Valentina Ivanov, 6-1, 3-6, 6-4, despite falling to No. 23 Alana Smith (NC State), 6-1, 6-3.
Senior
Ivana Corley, No. 60, passed No. 30 Solymar Colling (San Diego), 3-6, 6-3, 6-3, to snag a win over Hannah Viller Moeller (Cal), 1-6, 6-4, 6-2, but ended her run against Princeton's Victoria Hu, 6-3, 6-2.
The No. 1 ranked Corley sisters started their doubles run with a win over Louisville's No. 16 ranked Verma/Di Palma, 8-2, but fell to No. 57 Sasnouskaya/Starodubtseva (Old Dominion), 9-7.
