OU Women Set For Big 12s

NORMAN – The Oklahoma women's tennis team is geared up to close their 2021 fall slate at the Big 12 Fall Invite in Stillwater, Nov 5-7.

The squad recently traveled to the ITA Central Region Championship where they had a successful run resulting in multiple appearances in the quarterfinals.

"We are excited to compete with the top players in the Big 12," said head coach Audra Cohen. "Every match will be tough and competitive."

Senior Ivana Corley will claim the No. 1 seed in the singles draw in Flight A at the conference championship. Freshman Emma Staker and Junior Layne Sleeth will also compete in the round of 16 Flight A singles bracket. No. 1-seeded Marcelina Podlinska and No. 3-seeded Sasha Pisareva will represent the Sooners in the Flight B singles.

The No. 4-seeded Sleeth and Pisareva will compete in doubles alongside Podlinska and Staker. Both duos will receive a first-round bye in the round of 32.
