Women's Tennis Wraps Up Fall Slate

STILLWATER – Ivana Corley advanced to the singles semifinals as the OU women's tennis team wrapped up the semester at the Fall Series Championships.
Ivana Corley opened the tournament with a win over Chie Kezuka (ISU) 6-4, 2-6, 1-0 [5]. In the quarterfinal match, the junior outlasted Baylor's Jessica Hinojosa for a wild, 6-4, 5-7, 1-0 [12] victory. Corley's run came to an end in the semifinal where she fell to Daria Detkovskaya 7-6, 6-4.
Elsewhere in the tournament, Carmen Corley grabbed a first round win over Texas Tech's Nell Miller, 6-3, 6-4, before falling the quarterfinals to Iowa State's Maty Cancini in a battle, 4-6, 6-4, 1-0 [4]. The sophomore picked up a pair of wins in consolation, defeating Baylor's Alicia Herrero 4-6, 6-4, 1-0 [7] and Malkia Ngounoue of Kansas, 6-4, 7-6.
Kianah Motosono grabbed a win over Livia Kraus (Baylor), 6-0, 7-6, in consolation action.
The Corley sisters saw their winning streak come to an end at 21 matches. The duo received a first-round bye, then routed TCU's Marie Norris and Addie Guevara, 6-1 in the second round. The Corleys fell to Herrero and Mel Krywoj (Baylor), 6-2 in the quarterfinals, their first defeat since Carmen joined the roster in January 2020.
The Sooners will return to the court in January for spring duals. A schedule will be released at a later date.
