NORMAN — The Oklahoma men's and women's cross country teams return to the course Friday morning in Lawrence, Kan., for the 2020 Big 12 Cross Country Championship.
The Sooners head into the postseason following showings at the Cowboy Jamboree and OSU Invitational, both held at the Oklahoma State XC Course in Stillwater, Okla. In their most recent action at the OSU Invite, the women's squad placed fifth in the 6K competition, finishing in a total time of 2:00:35. The Sooner men finished eighth in the 8K with a total time of 2:15:48.
Carson Hockersmith led the women with a 38th-place finish in 23:05.2, while Ryan Teuscher paced the men in 67th (26:14.3).
At last year's conference meet, the OU men finished eighth in the 8K competition, while the Sooner women's team placed ninth in the championship's 6K race.
