NORMAN – The Oklahoma men's tennis team heads to Tuscaloosa, Ala., to open the 2019 fall slate Thursday at the Crimson Tide Four-in-the-Fall.
Four Sooners will represent OU at the event. Freshman
Mark Mandlik will make his debut in the Crimson and Cream and will be joined by returners
Matt Rodriguez,
Max Stewart and
Jochen Bertsch.
"We're just excited to play again," said head coach
Nick Crowell. "We've got some new blood in here –
Mark Mandlik is fresh off the US Open and we're excited to get him his first collegiate matches and
Max Stewart came back really ready to go and in great shape, and
Jochen Bertsch and
Matt Rodriguez also put in a lot of work this summer. It's going to be an exciting time in Alabama and we're looking forward to seeing these guys compete again."
The Crimson Tide Four-in-the-fall features two 16-player singles and two eight-team doubles draws. The tournament field includes players from Alabama, Georgia, Ole Miss, South Alabama, Tennessee, Tulane, Mississippi State and UAB.
