"We are definitely excited to get back on it," said associate head cross country coach Charmaine Darden, who will be making her coaching debut for the Sooners. "This will be my first time getting to view the athletes actually compete. We definitely have a good group based on their past times. We are looking to run very well this week. Once I get those results, we will take it from there."
The Sooners are coming off a solid season-opening showing at the Hurricane Preview in Tulsa on Aug. 31. The women's team took third in the 3,6000m race while the men finished fourth in the 6,400m run. Freshmen paced both the men's and women's groups in Tulsa with Luke Reid taking sixth for the Sooner men and Elise Welch placing ninth for the women.
