Sooners XC Caps Regular Season at Pre-Nats

NORMAN — The University of Oklahoma cross country teams concluded regular season competition Saturday in Terre Haute, Ind., at the Pre-National Invitational.
The OU men's team placed 15th in the 8K race behind three top-60 finishes courtesy of seniors Zach Gentry and Tyler Phillips and sophomore Ackeen Colley. Gentry led the way, finishing 52nd in 26:03.0 while Colley came in at 26:09.0 and Phillips crossed the line in 26:10.5.
On the women's side, the Sooners took 24th in the 6K race. Sophomore Elise Boisvert paced the squad with a 60th-place finish in 22:36.3. Freshman Elise Welch crossed the line close behind Boisvert in 70th with a time of 22:44.7.
The Sooners return to the course for the start of postseason racing on Nov. 2 in Waco, Texas, for the 2019 Big 12 XC Championship.
