NORMAN – The University of Oklahoma men's and women's cross country teams compete in their final regular season meet this Saturday at the 2019 Under Armour Pre-National Invitational in Terre Haute, Ind.
The Sooners women's team will take the course first at 11:15 a.m. CT in the women's 6K White race prior to the men competing in the men's 8K White race at 11:50 a.m. CT.
The meet is held this season on the LaVern Gibson Championship Cross Country Course near the campus of Indiana State University. The course will host the 2019 NCAA XC Championships later this season. Racing at the Pre-National Invite will be 57 men's teams and 64 women's teams, including 11 ranked men's squads and six ranked women's teams.
The Sooners are coming off a two-week break following competition at the Chile Pepper XC Festival in Fayetteville, Ark., on Oct. 5. The OU women placed 17th in the 5K race, while the men took 28th in the 8K race. Sophomore Elise Boisvert paced the women's squad with a 77th place spot while redshirt senior Zach Gentry led the men with a 92nd place finish.
Following this weekend's Pre-National Invite, OU will head into postseason competition beginning Nov. 2 at the Big 12 XC Championship in Waco, Texas.
