Ritchie and Lancaster Fall at Nationals

NORMAN, Okla. -- OU's Whitney Ritchie and Mia Lancaster lost in the round of 16 of the 2013 USTA/ITA National Indoor Intercollegiate Doubles Championship Thursday at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in Flushing, N.Y.

After having a bye in the first round, Ritchie and Lancaster advanced to the round of 16 and were defeated by Virginia's Julie Elbaba and Rachel Pierson 8-7 (3). The duo will play tomorrow in the consolation bracket.

The rest of the team will compete at the Northwestern Hidden Duals in Evanston, Ill., Nov. 8-10.

The tournament will be the last stop for OU this fall before preparing for spring dual season. The team opens up its spring season at home against North Texas, Sunday, Jan. 19.
