Cross Country Women to Compete in Arkansas

NORMAN, Okla. - The University of Oklahoma women's cross country team heads to Fayetteville, Ark., this Saturday, Oct. 5, to compete in the 25th annual Chile Pepper Cross Country Festival.

Ten runners will be competing in Arkansas for OU in an event that hosts approximately 80 schools from around the country. Elena Arriaza, Morgan Baulier, Ashley Guidot, Jessica Hembree, Lane Maguire, Kelsey McKee and Bryce Perry will all be making their third appearance this season.

Alysa Burchill and Marissa Codispodi will both be competing in their second collegiate race on Saturday following their debut at the Missouri Southern Stampede in September.

Hilary Krein, the lone returner for the women's team, will be competing for the first time this season at the Chile Pepper Festival.

The Sooners will be running in the 5k women's race, which is slated to start at 10:20 a.m. CT. Notable teams competing include Arkansas, Villanova, Dallas Baptist, Florida A&M, LSU, North Texas, Oral Roberts, TCU and Louisiana-Monroe.
