NORMAN, Okla. — The University of Oklahoma Cross Country program led all programs nationwide with four selections as the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) released its All-Academic Team for the 2010 cross country season Monday evening. George Alex, Bill Kogel, Rob Sorrell and Kevin Williams were all named to the team for the Sooners as just 56 student-athletes representing 42 institutions nationwide qualified for the honor.

To qualify for the USTFCCCA All-Academic Track and Field Team, student-athletes must have compiled a cumulative grade point average of 3.25 and have either earned USTFCCCA All-America status or finished in the NCAA region's top 15 (or top 10 percent) in 2010.

All four OU athletes finished in the top 15 at the NCAA Midwest Region, helping to lead the Sooners to their first ever NCAA Midwest Region crown. The team would go on to record its highest finish ever at the NCAA Cross Country Championships as it took fifth overall.
