NORMAN, Okla. - The University of Oklahoma men's cross country team once again maintained its spot in the top five in the latest national rankings provided Tuesday by the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).
The No. 5 Sooners round out the top five just behind No. 4 Colorado, No. 3 BYU, No. 2 Oklahoma State and top-ranked Wisconsin. The Sooners remain No. 2 in the Midwest regional poll, while the Oklahoma women maintained its spot among the top 12 of the women's Midwest regional poll.
Both teams competed in the Big 12 Championships in College Station, Texas on Saturday, Oct. 29. The men's team finished a program-best second behind OSU and the women placed eighth, its best finish since 2007.
Both teams return to action on Nov. 12 in DeKalb, Ill. for the NCAA Midwest Regional, where the men look to defend its crown after winning last year's championship.
