NORMAN, Okla.—The No. 15 nationally ranked Oklahoma men's cross country team competes at the Adidas Invitational in Madison, Wisc., this Saturday, Oct. 2. Oklahoma will race on the eight kilometer Zimmer Championship course at 11:45 a.m. CT.
 
The men's field includes 20 teams, seven of which are ranked in the top 25 of the national rankings according to the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA). Oklahoma is the third highest ranked team at the competition behind No. 6 Wisconsin and No. 11 Syracuse.
 
Racing for the Sooners are Kevin Schwab, Rob Sorell, Bill Kogel, George Alex, Kevin Williams, Bobby Nicholls, Eric Harasyn, Jacob Boone, Patrick Gomez, Alex Muntefering and Jeremy Sudbury. This is the first meet of the season for all but Gomez and Muntefering who competed at the Hurricane Invitational.
 
Schwab, Sorrell and Kogel return from last season where they finished in the top 15 at the Big 12 Championship, earning All-Big 12 honors, and also earned NCAA All-Midwest Region honors with Sudbury by recording top-25 finishes. Kogel was also named the Big 12 Newcomer of the Year in 2009.
