FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. -- The University of Oklahoma's women's cross country team finished 14th out of 41 teams Saturday morning at the Chili Pepper Festival in Fayetteville, Ark., as sophomore Kelly Waters took 12th to lead the Sooners.
OU finished with 397 total team points. Waters completed the 6,000-meter course in a time of 20 minutes and 56 seconds. For the first time this season Waters finished just outside of the top 10.
Sophomore Jessica Engel recorded a top-30 finish, completing the course in a time of 21:36 to finish 30th. Junior Lauren Watson finished 56th with a time of 22:11.
Rounding out the women's scoring were sophomore Lindsay Pierson (23:20) and senior Amanda Mayfield (23:55).
Big 12 foe Texas Tech claimed the women's title with 72 points.
