Summer League Update #8

NORMAN, Okla. -- Throughout the summer, SoonerSports.com will bring fans weekly updates of current Sooners competing in the numerous summer baseball leagues around the country. Fans can also access information on former Sooners playing in Major League Baseball and its minor league affiliates.

Summer Collegiate League
In the Cape Cod League, sophomore Andrew Doyle continues to be the ace for the Hyannis Mets. In Doyle's last start he picked up his team-leading fourth win against Harwich, pitching seven innings and giving up only one run. Doyle has an ERA of 2.83 and 28 strikeouts this summer.

Noteworthy
-Sophomore Zach Hedges (Moses Lake Pirates, West Coast Collegiate League) is currently fourth on the team in batting with a .270 average. Hedges has one home run and 11 RBIs this summer.

Oklahoma in the Minors
Ryan Rohlinger (Augusta GreenJackets, Class-A) had a good outing Aug. 6 against West Lake County going 1-for-3 with one home run and one RBI. Rohlinger leads his team with 18 home runs this year.

Val Pascucci (Albuquerque Isotopes, Class-AAA) went 6-for-13 against Colorado Springs this week and scored two runs. Pascucci owns a .283 batting average and leads the team with 28 home runs while driving in 85 runs on the year.

Noteworthy
-Aaron Reza (Lowell Spiners, Class-A) hit .285 against the State College Spikes with a triple while scoring two runs.

Sooners in the Majors
Greg Dobbs (Philadelphia Phillies) went 2-for-4 while scoring two runs against Milwaukee. He also added one home run and an RBI this week. Dobbs owns a .286 average, eight home runs and 41 RBIs on the season.

Noteworthy
-Greg Norton (Tampa Bay Devil Rays) hit .375 against Detroit this week, driving in one run and scoring another run. Norton is batting .202 with two home runs and 11 RBIs this year.
