Summer League Update #4

NORMAN, Okla. -- Throughout the summer, SoonerSports.com will bring fans weekly updates of current Sooners competing in the numerous summer baseball leagues around the country. Fans can also access information on former Sooners playing in Major League Baseball and its minor league affiliates.

The fourth installment, along with links to each of the players' statistics, are listed below:

Collegiate Summer League
In the Premier Baseball League, Matt Hoffman (Midwest Nationals) continues to shine with the team's second-best batting average. He recently connected on his fourth home run and increased his RBI total to 23. Both marks rank is in the top five on his team.

Garrett Richards (Cotuit Kettleers) has one win and two saves under his belt in the Cape Cod League. He has registered 13 strikeouts in 17 innings of work.

Oklahoma in the Minors
All-Star Val Pascucci (Albuquerque Isotopes) blasted one home run and drove in two runs in the AAA Minor League All-Star game held on Wednesday in Albuquerque. He returns to his team this week leading with 23 homeruns and 74 RBIs.

Daniel McCutchen (Tampa Yankees) continues to add to his team-leading win total with 10 wins and an ERA of 2.71. He is also in the top three on the team in strikeouts with 63. He was also the first player to win nine games in the Florida State League (Class A advanced).

Noteworthy
-Chuckie Caufield (West Virginia Power -ClassA) has increased his team-leading RBI total to 72. He is also hitting .314 with seven homers

-Ryan Rohlinger (Augusta GreenJackets -Class A) had a good outing July 7 against the Greenville Drive blasting two home runs and driving in two more runs. Rohlinger leads the GreenJackets with 16 homers and ranks second with 57 RBIs.

Sooners in the Majors
Greg Dobbs (Philadelphia Phillies) batted .375 against Colorado before the All-Star break and is hitting .288 with seven home runs and 34 RBIs on the season. Dobbs has done a solid job as a utility player for the Phillies.
