TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- University of Oklahoma cross country runner Jessica Eldridge closed out her OU cross country career Monday with an 86th-place finish at the NCAA Cross Country Championships in Terre Haute, Ind.
Eldridge finished the 6,000-meter LaVern Gibson Championship Cross Country Course at the Wabash Family Sports Center in a time of 21 minutes and 27 seconds.
Sally Kipyego of Texas Tech won her second straight NCAA title with a course-record time of 19:30 while Stanford took home the NCAA team title.
Eldridge completes her cross country eligibility as just the sixth woman in OU history to earn All-America honors after finishing 18th in the 2006 NCAA Cross Country Championships with a time of 21:13. Eldridge also claimed All-Big 12 honors in all four years of competition including a fourth-place finish in the 2006 Big 12 Championships.
With her indoor track and field eligibility exhausted, Eldridge now turns her attention to the outdoor track and field season where she hopes to repeat a successful 2007 season as she captured All-America honors in the outdoor 1500-meter run.
Eldridge also garnered All-America honors in the indoor season as a member of the distance medley relay team that finished sixth in the NCAA Indoor National Championship.
