Last year, the Sooners placed 10 on the conference all-academic cross country teams.
First-team honorees must have maintained a 3.20 grade point average, either cumulative or over the past two semesters, and have participated in at least 60 percent of a team's competitions. Freshmen and transfers are not eligible in their first year of academic residence. Second team honorees must have maintained a 3.00 grade point average, either cumulative or over the past two semesters. Seniors who have been with a program for at least two years and meet all the requirements except participation also are eligible for the teams.
First team honorees for the Sooners included Jimmy Buchanan, Sr., health and sports science, Toronto, Ontario; Andrew Call, Jr., economics, Norman, Okla.; Jackie Dubois, Jr., meterology, Lawrence, Kan.Trevor Gillum, Sr., health and sports science, Durant, Okla.; Darren Hutchins, Sr., math, Choctaw, Okla.; Stuart Lisle, RS-Fr., health and sports science, Edmond, Okla.; Emily Leonard, Jr., finance, Plano, Texas; Amanda Luksetich, Sr., civil engineering, Houston, Texas; Nicola Maye, RS-Fr., health and sports science, Summerfield, Jamaica; Joe McNair, Sr., history, Bartlesville, Okla.; and Aldwyn Sappleton, Sr., international business, Clarendon, Jamaica.
Second team honorees were Blake Culp, So., management, Bartlesville, Okla.; Billy Grona, Soph., aviation, Sand Springs, Okla., and Michelle Thomas, Sr., microbiology, McAlester, Okla.
This marked the third selection to the cross country all-academic team for Hutchins and Luksetich. It was a second selection for Buchanan, Call, Dubois, Gillum and Leonard and a first time honor for Culp, Grona, Lisle, Maye, McNair, Sappleton and Thomas in cross country.
