NORMAN, Okla. - The men's and women's cross country teams, which did not participate in last weekend's scheduled Sports World Southern Stampede, will instead travel to Stillwater for a triangular on Saturday.
The OU and Oklahoma State women will run a two-mile event at 9 a.m. to be followed by the men's three-mile race at 9:15 a.m. Joining OU and OSU in the men's race will be the men from Arkansas.
The Last Time Out
This will be the Sooners first time to run since the UTA Open on Sept. 8. OU withdrew from last week's Sports World Southern Stampede following the Big 12 Conference's decision to cancel all athletic competition over the weekend.
In the previous meet, senior Brandon Kissack led the Sooner men to a third-place team finish at the UTA Open with a time of 20:53 in the four-mile race. Kissack finished in sixth place individually, followed by Jimmy Buchanan and Cecil Rose with 10th- and 14th-place finishes respectively.
For the women, junior Kelli O'Rourke turned in a time of 12:34 in the two-mile run for a 13th-place individual finish. Junior Joni Alexander finished 20th with a 12:49 in her second competition as a Sooner. The women's team placed third overall at the Open.
