Jimmy Buchanan finished 60th overall, 57th in team standings, with a 32:15.4 to lead the University of Oklahoma men's cross country team to a 14th-place finish at the NCAA Midwest Regional Saturday. It marked the best regional finish for the Sooner men under third-year head coach Todd Maycumber.
The Sooner women were led by Aisha Stringer, who finished 92nd with a 23:35.8. The Sooners did not place in the team standings because OU competed only four runners.

Buchanan ran a 32:15.4 over the 10k course. Joey McNair was OU's second best finisher with a 32:33.7 and Cecil Rose closed his Sooner career by finishing third on the OU team with a career-best time of 32:41.8 in the 10k event. Trevor Gillum and Darren Hutchins also posted career-best marks today.
Amanda Luksetich ran a 23:44.6 on the 6k women's course to set a career best at the distance.
