WATERLOO, Iowa - A pair of seniors, Sam Stalcup and Stephanie Webb, were the top finishers for the University of Oklahoma in the NCAA Midwest Regional, the final meet of the season for OU. The Sooner men finished 20th in the 23-team field while the Sooner women were 23rd. A pair of Big XII schools, Oklahoma State for the men and Kansas State for the women, won the team titles in races run in 25 degree weather.
Stalcup finished 80th in the field of 163 to lead OU. His time of 32:47 in the 10K marked the first time this season for a runner other than Brandon Kissack to lead OU. Kissack finished 98th with a time of 33:22.
Webb finished 95th in a field of 164 with a time of 23:13 for the 6K race. It marked the fourth time in the last five races that the senior from Bartlesville had led OU.
Other Sooner men's finishes included Joey McNair (101st - 33:29), Cecil Rose (130th - 34:21), Jason Brown (137th - 34:39), Darren Hutchins (142nd - 35:13) and Jarrod Kelly (143rd - 35:13).
Other Sooner women's finishes included Corrie Hussar (109th - 23:37), Amanda Luksetich (112th - 23:45), Sinead Holt (130th - 24:20) and Abby Nutter (148th - 26:08).
Three Sooners posted career bests in the race today. They included Brown with a 35:10 in the men's race and Hussar and Luksetich in the women's race.
