Kissack, Hussar Post OU's Best Finishes at the Big 12 Cross Country

BOULDER, Colo. -- Brandon Kissack ran a 27:14 in the 8K and Corrie Hussar ran a 23:41 for the 6K as the Sooner cross country teams finished 12th in the Big XII Championship. Colorado repeated in both the men's and women's race. CU has won all five Big XII men's titles and four of the five women's titles.
Kissack finished 64th to post the best finish for the Sooner while Hussar was 66th.
Other Sooner men's finishes include Sam Stalcup (69-27:22), Joey McNair (76-28:16), Jason Brown (78-28:18) Darren Hutchins (79-28:20) Cecil Rose (81-28:55), Jarrod Kelly (83-29.18) and Forrest Walker (100-29:50)
Other Sooner women's finishes included Alaina Dearman (73-24:20), Aisha Stringer (74-24:27), Sinead Holt (75-24:28), Stephanie Webb (76-24:30), Amanda Luksetich (78-24:47), Abby Nutter (79-25:39) and Jenny Ledford (91-26:06.
Nine Sooners who competed today ran in the conference meet last year and seven of the nine improved their overall finish in 2000.
The Sooners will take the upcoming weekend off from competition. OU will return to competition on Nov. 11 when they travel to the NCAA Midwest Regional Championship in Cedar Falls, Iowa. The University of Northern Iowa will be the host. Qualifers from the regional will advance to the NCAA Championship set for Nov. 20 at Iowa State University.
