Six Sooners are slated to compete, beginning Thursday night with Evans Biwott in the men's 5,000 meters at 8 p.m. CT. Thobias Cheruiyot, Ronald Ngetich and Shadrack Kiptoo will follow in the men's 10,000 meters at 9:35 p.m. CT. Cheruiyot enters the race as Oklahoma's outdoor record holder in the event with a personal-best time of 28:27.14.
The women will compete Friday, starting with Leah Jeruto in the 3,000-meter steeplechase at approximately 4:50 p.m. CT. Jeruto holds the school record in the event with a personal-best 9:34.71.
Domtila Cheruto will close out competition for the Sooners in the women's 10,000 meters at 8:30 p.m. CT. The freshman is coming off a standout indoor season in which she set program records in the 5,000 meters and as part of the distance medley relay team, while also recording a top-three mark in OU history in the 3,000 meters.
Oklahoma opened the outdoor season at the TCU Alumni Invitational, totaling eight event titles and a host of outdoor personal bests across the two-day meet.
On day one, the Sooners picked up wins from Connor Jones (men's hammer throw), Julian McCullough (men's high jump) and Chesni Scott (women's discus).
Oklahoma added five more titles on day two, as Tyley Dotson (women's shot put), Niqualas Chew (men's long jump), Agur Dwol (women's long jump), Morgan Little (women's 100 meters) and Awakhiwe Ndlovu (men's triple jump) led the way.
The Sooners are in their second season in the SEC, one of the premier conferences in collegiate track and field. In their inaugural season, Oklahoma captured eight individual conference titles and finished fourth on the women's side at the 2025 SEC Indoor Championship. At the 2025 NCAA Outdoor Championships, the men earned a sixth-place finish, the program's best outdoor nationals result in 28 years.
