FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — The Oklahoma track and field team closed out the Tyson Invitational on Saturday evening inside the Randal Tyson Track Center, adding three marks to the top-10 in OU history along with a host of indoor personal bests to conclude the two-day meet. The Sooners also wrapped up competition at the Husky Classic in Seattle, where another top-10 mark was added to the program record book.
In a field of 12 professional and collegiate athletes, Kyren Washington claimed the event title in the men's WA Silver high jump, clearing 2.22m (7'3.25") for the win.
Oklahoma saw strong performances across both high jump sections. Hannah Pfiffner recorded a personal-best 1.80m (5'10.75") to finish third in the open section, improving to sixth in OU history. Later in the championship section, freshman Brianna Rivers cleared a personal-best 1.81m (5'11.25"), moving to No. 5 in school history.
In the horizontal jumps, Taylor Fingers registered an indoor personal-best 13.09m (42'11.50") in the women's triple jump, good for No. 8 in OU history, while freshman Zalaya Dupre added a personal-best 12.87m (42'2.75"). On the men's side, junior Awakhiwe Ndlovu jumped a personal-best 15.78m (51'9.25") to finish third.
Tyley Dotson added another field-event highlight with a personal-best 16.26m (53'4.25") to place sixth in the women's shot put.
On the track, Mary Van Dyke clocked a personal-best 4:53.66 in the women's mile.
Competing in Seattle, Evans Biwott lowered his own No. 2 mark in OU history, running a personal-best 13:35.51 in the 5,000m invitational.
The Sooners return to action next weekend to host the Crimson and Cream Qualifier at the John Jacobs Track & Field Complex and Mosier Indoor Track Facility. A select group of athletes will also travel back to Fayetteville to compete in the Arkansas Qualifier.
